    Position Open: Director, Lonergan Research Institute

    Regis College at the University of Toronto invites applications and nominations for a contractually limited term appointment (5 years, with the possibility of renewal). Duties include a primary appointment to Regis College, a Jesuit School of Theology, and a 50 % secondment as director of the Lonergan Research Institute (LRI), housed at Regis College.  Appointment to begin in September, 2017, subject to availability. The position involves teaching, supervision and contribution to formation at Regis College with possible membership in the Graduate Centre of the Toronto School of Theology. The secondment involves advancing the mission of the LRI, which is to preserve, promote, develop and implement the thought of Bernard Lonergan, including administration, communications, fundraising, research, conference participation, publication and program supervision/implementation.

    The successful applicant will have demonstrated expertise in the thought of Bernard Lonergan, and will have a record of excellence in research and competence in teaching. Consideration will include those candidates who possess a creative, innovative vision for the LRI during this this transitional time, especially engaging his thought in a more contemporary and interdisciplinary setting.  The areas of research and teaching specialization are open but the ability to contribute to the existing faculty complement will be considered an asset.

    The candidate must be able to work collegially with colleagues from Regis College and the Toronto School of Theology. Candidate must have completed doctorate and will meet a standard of excellence as the director/administrator of the LRI and as a special faculty member of Regis College.
