    Faculty position in Theology (Rank open)

    Saint Martin’s University, an independent, coeducational Catholic Benedictine University in Western Washington invites applications for a faculty member to manage the Benedictine Institute, design a new Theology curriculum and minor, and teach Theology. The faculty member will be expected to teach a two course load each semester. Rank is open and dependent on experience and qualifications.

    By agreement with the College’s sponsor, Saint Martin’s Abbey, the applicant must be a practicing Roman Catholic and hold or request a mandatum upon hire. Faculty are expected to support the Catholic, Benedictine liberal arts mission of the university. Candidates must have valid documentation permitting them to work in the US from the date on which the appointment at Saint Martin’s takes effect. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

    Required Qualifications:

    • -       Be a practicing Roman Catholic and hold or request a mandatum upon hire
    • -       An earned Ph.D., S.T.D. or a D.Min. in Theology from a regionally-accredited institution in one or more of the following areas: Catholic Moral Theology, Catholic Systematic Theology, Sacramental Theology, Ecclesiology, Catholic Social Teachings, Pastoral Studies, or other areas within the discipline of Catholic Theology

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • -       A strong record of teaching and service and an ongoing commitment to scholarship in her/his field
    • -       Experience in curriculum design and program development
    • -       Experience managing faculty as a chair, assistant chair, or committee chair
